Garland Weeks

Amarillo was my home of birth in 1942, Wichita Falls was my home of rearing, but Lubbock, Texas, is my home of choice! I graduated from Texas Tech in 1967 with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and pursued that career path for several years in various places.

However, when I discovered sculpture 40+ years ago, I was (and still am) hooked for life. I no longer cared for pork belly futures, fat cattle prices, or costs of gain.

As in many other professions, sculpting is not necessarily the most financially rewarding JOB, but it is the most personally rewarding way of life imaginable for me. I sculpt every day and it is not a JOB—it is a JOY! To create new works, to explore new ideas, to touch lives—WOW!
