She values most the education she received from her mother, Conny Martin, under whose tutelage she learned classical drawing and contemporary design.

Other associations include the American Impressionist Society and American Women Artists. She has won awards in national and international shows, including the Bronze Award in Pastel 100, and Best of Show in the Austin Pastel Society Annual Juried Show.

Jody’s paintings have been published in Pastel Journal, Southwest Art Magazine, Plein Air Magazine, American Art Collector Magazine, Richeson75 International-Portraits/Figures, Strokes of Genius 10: Inspiring Subjects, Richeson75 International-Landscapes, Seascapes and Architecture, Richeson75 International-Animals & Wildlife, and the Dallas Morning News.

She taught art in the Carrollton for sixteen years where she loved helping her students learn to see the world through artists’ eyes. She’s passionate about teaching students of all ages to believe in themselves and to create from their hearts. She now lives in Kyle, Texas and is painting full time.
