Karen Dreyer

Karen Dreyer lives in Leawood, KS and is a contemporary, realist painter of landscapes, still lifes and animals. Most of what Karen has learned has come from her mother, the artist, Toni Arnett. She has become Karen's greatest teacher and mentor in painting.

She has been accepted to show her work at Arti Gra where she was the recipient of the People’s CHoice award, Buttonwood Art Space. Karen was also invited to show her work at the Westport Art Fair, Hidden Glen Art Festival, Summit Art festival, and the Barstow art show.

Karen grew up in Lubbock, Texas and moved to Kansas City in 1985 to attend nursing school at KU.  She graduated with a BSN and became a critical care and emergency room nurse. After marrying her husband Mike, and having two children, she decided to retire from nursing and stay home.  When their children were older and self-sufficient, she began to steadily pursue her painting career.  She is very passionate about her painting and looks forward to painting every day.
