2019 art sale and exhibition
I am thrilled to be included in this prestigious show at my Alma Mater! I majored in Fine Art and Interior Design at Texas Tech University graduating in 1965. After a 30 year career in interior design and moving to Fredericksburg to retire, I have seriously pursued my passion for painting for the last 20 years. I am currently represented by RS Hanna Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas.
My focus is on landscape and animal art incorporating them in the Texas and Colorado landscape. I live on a ranch with numerous longhorns, horses, donkeys, sheep and dogs for subject matter. Photographing ranch life, and wildlife makes it possible to incorporate these into my pastel paintings and has been an exciting experience. When painting an animal I sometimes find myself absorbed into the spirit of this creature. It can be a very moving experience. Painting in “plein air” is a wonderful way to see the atmosphere at that time of day and bring it to the painting. The colors are never captured as well with a photo lens.
