Sylvia Benitez


Sylvia Benitez, a nationally awarded artist, is the recipient of many awards from numerous granting institutions including Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation, Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Association of International Critics of Art, National Endowment for the Arts, Puffin Foundation, and Empire State Alliance. Benitez also has been a fellow at MacDowell Colony, Sculpture Space, Yaddo, Vermont Studio Center, and Altos de Chavon, Dominican Republic.


She has exhibited her sculptural and painting installations in numerous museums, sculpture parks and galleries throughout the USA including Whitney Museum of Art at Champion, Socrates Sculpture Park, Neuberger Museum of Art, Baltimore Museum of Art, American Craft Museum, McNay Museum, Johns Hopkins University, El Paso Museum of Art, Islip Museum, Abington Art Center, Mitte Gallery, Schuylkill Environmental Center, Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, Museo De Historia, LHUCA, South Texas College and Southwest School of Art.
