Kim Mackey

Biography / Artist Statement

Critics consider Kim Mackey to be one of the finest artists in the state of Colorado. He has exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in New York, the Oil Painters of America in Chicago and San Antonio, the Colorado Governor’s Invitational Show, The Coors Western Art Show, the C.M. Russell Auction, the Gilcrease Museum, the American Art Invitational, the Phippen Museum, Bosque Art Classic, and the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury Connecticut, just to name a few. His paintings hang in many distinguished collections including the Forbes collection and that of singer/songwriter, Neil Diamond.

Kim has been featured in Art Revue, Art Talk, The Artist’s Magazine, Southwest Art, Art of the West, Western Horseman and Cowboys and Indians Magazine. The Denver Post has called him, “A master of (his) genre”. Kim’s work was featured as the 60th National Appaloosa Show limited edition poster and has been featured on the cover of Western Horseman Magazine. He received the Boren-Selvidge Award 2017 from the Bosque Invitational Art Classic. Kim is also featured in the recently published book, “Painted Sky”.

Kim is represented by Big Horn Galleries in Cody, Wyoming and Tubac, Arizona and Sherwood’s Gallery in Houston, Texas.
