Biography / Artist Statement

A native of West Texas, Melissa brings the vibrant landscapes of her homeland to life through her distinctive artistic vision. Based between Horseshoe Bay and Midland, Texas and Ruidoso, New Mexico, she has transformed her self-taught passion for art—discovered during her senior year of high school—into a flourishing creative practice.

Drawing from her background in landscape and home design, Melissa creates captivating works that reflect the natural world’s inherent beauty. Her pieces capture the divine in the everyday: from blazing Texas sunrises to delicate flower petals, from billowing clouds to whimsical wildlife. Working primarily in acrylics for her larger pieces, she also explores watercolors and inks, using each medium to create stunning effects through color and movement.

Her diverse portfolio spans Texas landscapes, oversized florals, playful cocktail animals, and bold abstracts. Private collectors seek out her commission work, drawn to her ability to blend technical skill with emotional resonance. Beyond her commercial success, Melissa maintains a deep commitment to giving back to her community. Her original pieces have supported numerous charitable organizations, including Wine Women & Shoes, Texas Wounded Warriors, and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Highlands.
