Biography / Artist Statement

Robert Rogers is a native Texan whose artistic journey is deeply inspired by Native American, Asian, and European art, as well as his lifelong passion for scouting and Indian lore.

As a child, Robert lived in Okinawa, France, and England, experiences that broadened his artistic perspective. He later studied art at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and was profoundly influenced by his visits to Europe’s art capitals. Artists such as Gustav Klimt and René Lalique have been significant sources of inspiration for his work.

With over 42 years in the jewelry industry, Robert co-founded Robert Lance Jewelers in Lubbock, Texas. His creations exemplify the intersection of fine craftsmanship and artistic expression. As a master wax carver and jeweler, he specializes in highly detailed designs that blend archetypal imagery from Native American petroglyphs and pictographs with mystical symbols, braille, Asian motifs, and other cultural icons. His work spans limited-edition bronzes, wearable art, and contemporary paintings, all marked by a distinctive style that reflects his passion and skill.

Robert’s art has been featured in numerous magazines, and he was honored as the featured artist for the 2018 Lubbock Arts Festival. His pieces are showcased in galleries from Texas to Oregon. A unique aspect of Robert’s work is the narrative he weaves into each piece. These storylines, written by him, enhance the viewer’s connection to the artwork by evoking emotions and memories. He calls this the “memory bond,” a transformative experience that varies for each individual.

Through his art, Robert Rogers continues to create a vibrant blend of cultural heritage, spiritual symbolism, and personal storytelling, leaving a lasting impression on those who encounter his work.
